Children’s Charity support
Laser Electrical are passionate about putting back into our local community. Last year Laser Electrical designated our charity year to working with the charity The Lord Taverners. Together we committed to help provide the Edith Borthwick School with a new 14-seater minibus with wheelchair access. The Edith Borthwick school is for children aged between 4 to 18 with severe and complex learning difficulties. After a series of fundraising events and race evening we managed to hit our £20,000 target. We were delighted to be joined by West Ham and England legend Sir Trevor Brooking, Lady Hilkka and former Essex and England cricketer Ronnie Irani to officially hand over the minibus to the school (pictured). This minibus has more than doubled the school’s capacity for transporting students who require wheelchair access.
This year we are delighted to be teaming up again with the charity The Lord Taverners to help another local project and supply The Castledon School in Wickford with a new minibus. The school is again for students aged between 4 and 18 with severe and complex learning difficulties. To help raise funds our Procurement Manager Garth Davies will be running the London Marathon in April, riding 100 mile route in Ride London in August and swimming the 2.5 mile route in the Serpentine in September. Laser will also be holding our 4th Annual Charity Race night at Chelmsford City Racecourse.
